Measuring Impact on the ground

In order to address and mitigate risks in more challenging areas of the world, we use a range of industry-leading third-party tools, shown below.

We look at seven material areas for commodities in all the countries that we operate: livelihoods, land, water, climate change, labour, food security and food safety. A traffic-light system is used to summarize the likelihood of risk in any country and we constantly monitor reports.

SCREENING PROCESS

Olam analyzes the results of these third-party tools to inform our engagement with relevant NGOs, government bodies, and other key stakeholders. It also assists discussions with our suppliers to improve transparency and provide advice on how to pro-actively avoid and mitigate against challenges.
